To Detox, or not to Detox??To Detox, or not to Detox??

To detox of not to detox?? A commonplace buzzword, without an actual concrete definition. Anything from bizarre juice concoctions, excessive supplementation, to simply eating one thing, or nothing at all, the list continues. “Do these detoxification diets work”?

In truth, the human body is already equipped with the most advanced and effective detoxification system, far superior to anything available on a shelf.

Optimal functioning of our body’s detoxification system, liver and GI tract, is only as effective as the quality of food going in. Dietary fibre from whole foods, along with the nourishment they offer, is fundamental in the support and functioning of this system.

Supporting the best detoxification system money can buy, starts with “alive foods” not products. We can call this the big picture. Looking at the big picture ensures we are always detoxing effectively.

Fresh veggies, unrefined grains, fresh fruits, lean sources of Protein, and primarily water to drink will offer you the best detox benefits.

Zucchini Pasta and Lean Italian Sausage

There is no fitter way to enjoy pasta than by substituting baby squash prepared using a mandoline! The same relative shape is easily achieved leaving a finished pasta dish both satisfying and just plain fun!

For this dish the flavour is derived from the best lean Italian sausage you can find. Start by squeezing the meat of the sausage into a frying pan along with the following ingredients.

* Crushed fennel seed
* chillies
* extra virgin olive oil

Cook until crisp and golden.
Once cooked stir in fresh oregano, along with the desired amount of prepared zucchini pasta.
Toss lightly adding minimal amount of water if needed until the zucchini pasta is warm and of the desired texture.
Finish with a dash of lemon zest and a sprinkle of lemon juiceJ

What you are left with is an immensely flavourful dish leaving everyone feeling light and ready for the evening.h with a dash of lemon zest and a sprinkle of lemon juiceJ
